Hills: Think & Grow Rich Techniques

Lesson 1: Definiteness of Purpose
Definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement. Without a purpose and a plan, people drift aimlessly through life.

Lesson 2: Mastermind Alliance
The Mastermind principle consists of an alliance of two or more minds working in perfect harmony for the attainment of a common definite objective. Success does not come without the cooperation of others.

Lesson 3: Applied Faith
Faith is a state of mind through which your aims, desires, plans and purposes may be translated into their physical or financial equivalent.

Lesson 4: Going the Extra Mile
Going the extra mile is the action of rendering more and better service than that for which you are presently paid. When you go the extra mile, the Law of Compensation comes into play.

Lesson 5: Pleasing Personality
Personality is the sum total of one’s mental, spiritual and physical traits and habits that distinguish one from all others. It is the factor that determines whether one is liked or disliked by others.

Lesson 6: Personal Initiative
Personal initiative is the power that inspires the completion of that which one begins. It is the power that starts all action. No person is free until he learns to do his own thinking and gains the courage to act on his own.

Lesson 7: Positive Mental Attitude
Positive mental attitude is the right mental attitude in all circumstances. Success attracts more success while failure attracts more failure.

Lesson 8: Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm is faith in action. It is the intense emotion known as burning desire. It comes from within, although it radiates outwardly in the expression of one’s voice and countenance.

Lesson 9: Self-Discipline
Self-discipline begins with the mastery of thought. If you do not control your thoughts, you cannot control your needs. Self-discipline calls for a balancing of the emotions of your heart with the reasoning faculty of your head.

Lesson 10: Accurate Thinking
The power of thought is the most dangerous or the most beneficial power available to man, depending on how it is used.

Lesson 11: Controlled Attention
Controlled attention leads to mastery in any type of human endeavor, because it enables one to focus the powers of his mind upon the attainment of a definite objective and to keep it so directed at will.

Lesson 12: Teamwork
Teamwork is harmonious cooperation that is willing, voluntary and free. Whenever the spirit of teamwork is the dominating influence in business or industry, success is inevitable. Harmonious cooperation is a priceless asset that you can acquire in proportion to your giving.

Lesson 13: Adversity & Defeat
Individual success usually is in exact proportion of the scope of the defeat the individual has experienced and mastered. Many so-called failures represent only a temporary defeat that may prove to be a blessing in disguise.

Lesson 14: Creative Vision
Creative vision is developed by the free and fearless use of one’s imagination. It is not a miraculous quality with which one is gifted or is not gifted at birth.

Lesson 15: Health
Sound health begins with a sound health consciousness, just as financial success begins with a prosperity consciousness.

Lesson 16: Budgeting Time & Money
Time and money are precious resources, and few people striving for success ever believe they possess either one in excess.

Lesson 17: Habits
Developing and establishing positive habits leads to peace of mind, health and financial security. You are where you are because of your established habits and thoughts and deeds.

If I Had To Do It All Over Again

If I had to do it all over again.

“If I had my life to life over, I’d try to make more mistakes next time.
I would relax, I would limber up.
I would be crazier than I’ve been this trip.
I know very few things I’d take seriously anymore.
I would take more chances,
I would take more trips,
I would scale more mountains,
I would swim more rivers
and I would watch more sunsets.
I would eat more ice cream and fewer beans.
I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones.
You see..I was one of those people who lived life prophylactically and sensibly and sanely, hour after hour and day after day.
Oh, I’ve had my moments and if I had it to do all over again, I’d have many more of them. In fact, I’d try not to have anything else, just moments, one after another,
instead of living so many years ahead of my day.
I’ve been one of those people who never went anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat, a gargle and a parachute.
If I had it to do all over again, I’d travel lighter, much lighter than I have.
I would start barefoot earlier in the Spring and I’d stay barefoot much later in the Fall.
And I would ride more merry-go-rounds,
and catch more gold rings,
and greet more people,
and pick more flowers,
and dance more often.
If I had it to do all over again.
But you see,
I don’t.”

A Great PoemFor…

A Great Poem

Forgive Me When I Whine !

Today upon a bus I saw a lovely maiden with golden hair;

I envied her—so beautiful, and how, I wished I were so fair;

When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle;

She had one foot and wore a crutch,

but as she passed, she wore a smile

Oh God, forgive me when I whine,

I have two feet –the world is mine

And when I stopped to buy some sweets,

the lad who served me had such charm;

he seemed to radiate good cheer, his manner was so kind and warm;

I said, “it’s nice to deal with you, such courtesy I seldom find;”

He turned and said, “Oh, thank you sir.”

And then I saw that he was blind.

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine,

I have two eyes, the world is mine.

Then when walking down the street,

I saw a child with eyes of blue;

He stood and watched the others play,

it seemed he knew not what to do;

I stopped a moment, then I said,

“Why don’t you join the others, dear?

He looked ahead without a word,

I realized –he could not hear.

Oh God, forgive me when I whine,

I have two ears, the world is mine

With feet to take me where I’d go,

with eyes to see the sunsets glow,

with ears to hear what I would know,

I am blessed indeed.

The world is mine Oh God, forgive me when I whine.

Forget Me When I Whine.

Carrot, Egg or Coffee Bean?

Carrot, Egg or Coffee Bean?

You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She then pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me, what do you see?”

“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.

She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, Mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity — boiling water — but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

“Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity? Do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor of your life. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level?

How do you handle adversity? Are you changed by your surroundings or do you bring life, flavor, to them?

ARE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?

Government stealing your money

I’m not talking about increasing your taxes — that’s child’s play compared to what’s actually happening.
I’m not talking about limiting your ability to earn — this is a much sneakier attack upon your wealth.
What I’m talking about is a Fed printing so much money — to pay for America’s massive debt — that your dollars could lose 80% of their purchasing power in the next decade.
Don’t listen to the fiddled numbers coming out of Washington. They don’t include skyrocketing gas, or the huge increase in food prices. But they do include the wasteland that is real estate — dragging everything else down.
But who’s buying a house?
If you want to talk about what is happening to the real expenses of Americans — they’re 8% higher now than they were this time last year.
And, if the government gets their way, that’ll just be the start.
How can you possibly hold onto your wealth in a climate like this?
I’ll tell you.
My friend Jim Trippon is an accountant and wealth advisor for the über-rich. He’s been featured on Fox News, on NPR, and in the private offices of some of the largest companies in the world.
And, when he spoke at The Money Show recently, the audience there wanted to know the same thing that his richest clients want to know — how can I save my wealth from the creeping specter of inflation?
Jim’s been working on this problem for years — in preparation for this day. He saw the writing on the wall when the government somehow managed to increase record deficits! Now, Jim’s got a ready answer.
In fact, follow this one piece of advice, and you’ll out-earn anything a bank could pay you by 496% starting tomorrow.
And that’s just the beginning. By the time you’re through, you won’t only keep pace with inflation — you’ll leave it in the dust.
Normally, this knowledge is only available to select clientele, for thousands and thousands of dollars (the actual number Jim usually charges is, frankly, a little embarrassing).
But he feels like this issue is too important to keep locked away. If America is going to survive the upcoming inflation crisis, we need to get the word out, to as many people as possible — as quickly as possible.
That’s why Jim is giving this knowledge away — absolutely free.
No gimmicks. No bait-and-switch. No hidden shipping charges.
Simply click here, and Jim will send you his free report, How To Beat Your Bank Rate By 496% – Minimum.
It’s that easy. But do it fast — your money is shrinking 8% this year alone.
And tell a friend — the more people we get on this life raft, the better chance America has to survive the upcoming waves of inflation.
Click here now. It will cost you nothing — but save you everything.
